In 1940, Enzo Ferrari decided to depart Alfa Romeo and started a new company named Ferrari. And in 1969 he decided to sell 50% shares of his company and later in 1988, 90% shares were sold. Hungary Hybrid Car - Antro Solo

Hungary is not the first place that comes to mind when thinking about cutting edge green vehicles, yet. If the creators of the Antro Solo have their way, the country will be synonymous with green machines by 2012. The Antro Solo is a solar, human and gas-electric hybrid vehicle. It looks like nothing else out there, and has a fuel efficiency of more than 150 miles per gallon

The Antro Solo is a three seat gas-electric hybrid prototype made entirely out of carbon fiber. This material choice allowed the graphic designers to lower the weight of the vehicle to a measly 270kg. This also allowed them to achieve phenomenal fuel efficiency and a pretty decent top speed of 87mph. All of this is impressive enough, but the Solo’s designers were not content to stop there.

In order to maximize the efficiency of the vehicle, the designers installed solar panels on the roof. These solar panels store energy in the car’s batteries which can be used for short 15-25km trips. If there hasn’t been enough sun to power the batteries, each passenger’s seat comes equipped with pedals that can power the vehicles generator. If you are by yourself, or everyone gets tired, the car can switch to its small combustion engine that is capable of running on petrol or ethanol
The prototype was shown at the Budapest Museum of Transport. It is set to go into production in 2012, and expected to cost around $20,000 dollars.

Audi R8 2008

Audi R8 is based on the Audi Le Mans quattro concept car, unveiled three years ago. Confirming its ambitions, the R8 features a mid-mounted engine with a maximum power output of 420 bhp and peak torque of 430 Nm reached at 4,500 to 6,000 rpm and distributed between front and rear axles in 44 to 56 proportion.

he Audi R8 jumps from zero to 62 mph in just 4.6 seconds and reaches a maximum of 186.6 mph (301 km/h).The Audi R8 is fitted with 6-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels as standard, but the car may also be ordered with more appealing 19-inch wheels. The rims are mated with 235/40 size tires at the front and up to 285/35 at rear.

The wide, full shape of the R8 seems to hug the road. It demonstrates its potential through its imposing proportions, accentuated wheel arches and substantial air apertures. It is like no other Audi before it – with the unmistakable proportions of a mid-engine car. These proportions are dictated by the forward position of the cabin and the clearly separate engine compartment behind it. A characteristic feature of the side view of the R8 is the "sideblade", which visually accentuates the engine’s position as well as acting as an air deflector.

And yet the R8 is undeniably first and foremost an Audi, not just because of the characteristic single-frame grille at its front end. For the first time, the four rings are positioned not over the grille, but on the lid above it. The sparing but always very precise use of lines is another typical Audi characteristic, as is the curved arc of the roof. And the continuous line running from the front apron across the wheel arches and flanks to the tail end, then back down the other side, is significant for the brand. This "loop" naturally encompasses the air apertures, the headlights and the rear lights.
